8歳で編み物を始めてから、ずっと糸とともに歩いてきました。
旅の中で生まれた編み地、出会いから広がった作品、手編みから機械編みへの試み。振り返ると、その時々の暮らしや人とのご縁が、次の形を連れてきてくれたように思います。
作家になることを目指していたわけではありません。
けれど、さまざまな出会いや支えに導かれながら、編み続けてきました。
作品は完成して終わるものではなく、次の作品へ、次の誰かへと受け継がれていきます。
ここには、そんな編みの変遷と記憶の一部を残しています。
Since I first learned to knit at the age of eight, thread and yarn have accompanied me throughout my life.

knitting to machine knitting.
Looking back, each stage of life seems to have led naturally to the next form.
The pieces gathered here are not simply past works, but traces of an ongoing exploration through knitting.
This archive follows some of those transitions and memories.

基本形の記号を繰り返して構成した総模様
軽井沢にいた頃、ショップで見た編み地の記憶が忘れられず、アジアを旅する途中で何度も試行錯誤を重ねました。
かのこ編みを発展させながら独自の記号で編み目を書き出し、その組み合わせによって多彩な表情を生み出せる編み地へと育っていきました。
基本形を思いついたのは、インド南部のコダイカナル。
「森からの贈り物」という意味を持つその土地の名を、この編み地の名前にしました。
記号の変化から生まれた、かのこ模様を生かした展開例
Feather
手紡ぎシルクと生成りタッサシルクによる、最後の手編みフェザー作品。
十津川へ移り住み、個展を開こうと考えていた頃、ファーを散りばめるような編み地ができないかと模索していました。
レース編みへの興味から生まれたのが、フェザーとリーフです。
フェザーは自然なフリルや波打つラインが生まれ、ファーが全体に散るような軽やかな表情を持っています。
手編みと機械編みの両方に展開でき、ショールやマフラー、ベスト、ケープなど、さまざまな作品へ発展しました。
Inspired by my love of lace knitting, Feather and Leaf were developed during the same period.
Feather creates soft frills and flowing lines, allowing fur to appear lightly scattered throughout the fabric.
The structure evolved into shawls, scarves, vests, and capes through both hand knitting and machine knitting.

1999年、私のショールを見たポーラの提案から、フェザーはパンチカードによる機械編みへと展開しました。
手編みで生まれた構造が機械編みに受け継がれ、新たな表現の可能性が広がりました。
In 1999, after seeing one of my shawls, Paula suggested adapting Feather to punch-card machine knitting.
The structure developed through hand knitting was translated into machine knitting, opening new possibilities for expression.
Leaf
フェザーと同時期に生まれたのがリーフです。
レース編みへの興味から生まれた軽やかな編み地で、ショールやマフラーとして展開しました。
その後、リーフの形を四角や六角のモチーフへと発展させ、ベストなどの作品へ展開しました。
このモチーフの発想は、現在のヘキサゴンへとつながっています。
Leaf was developed during the same period as Feather.
Inspired by lace knitting, its light and open structure evolved into scarves and shawls.
Later, the leaf motif was transformed into square and hexagonal forms, leading to vests and other garments.
This exploration of motifs continues today in my Hexagon work.

花筏のショール
花筏のポンチョベスト
リーフから発展して生まれたのが花筏です。
葉の先に一輪の花を添えることで、より自由で表情豊かな編み地となりました。
ショールやベストへと展開し、ポンチョベストは現在も続く私のスタイルのひとつです。
HanaiKada evolved from the Leaf series.
By adding a single flower to the leaf motif, the structure gained a more expressive and organic character.
It developed into shawls and vests, and the poncho vest remains one of my signature styles today.
